Low frequency kitchen timer. Extraordinarily loud. Lower frequencies so all can hear clearly (including 520hz square wave recommended by US Govt for all new alerting devices.) Sounds powerful buzzer for over 15 minutes. Strong computer voice announces minutes settings. Very simple to use. Pre-set countdown settings are 2 min, 3 min, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90 minutes. Loud clear computer voice announces status at each stage. Middle C is an easy-to-understand reference value -- instead of "Hertz" -- and helps many feel more comfortable with what they are buying. Note: Middle C is a close approximation. Units vary slightly in frequency. May range from Middle C to C-Sharp.

Special frequency for Hard of Hearing Cat.# 1520

The NFPA, HLAA and others have sponsored intensive studies to determine the most effective audible smoke alarm signal for HOH, deep sleepers, children and other at-risk populations. The Loudenlow Model 520 incorporates these findings. Therefore it uses the recommended 520 Hz square wave and T-3 alert signal because these have been shown to be the most effective in several independent laboratory studies. See our home page for more about the importance of Low Frequency. (520 Hz is about one octave above Middle C on a piano.)
